Split Second, 2016
The tension that exists between a sense of optimism, stability and freedom, and the possibility of ruin, destruction, and pain, is a universal human feeling.
This project focuses on the process of coping with a difficult personal experience of loss. The use of materials produced from the earth takes back to the source, requiring commitment, focus, and patience.
The material is elastic, giving, but the moment its final shape is determined, it becomes rigid and breakable.
This is a look into the fragile point within all of us as humans, the possibility of happiness, even if fleeting, and the constant possibility of devastation and loss.
